On Thursday (14 March 2024), NATO’s Defence Innovation Accelerator for the North Atlantic (DIANA) announced the significant expansion of its transatlantic network of accelerator sites and test centres. DIANA’s footprint will now comprise 23 accelerator sites (up from 11) and 182 test centres (up from 90) in 28 Allied countries.

We have been honoured as Warsaw University of Technology to play a role in the stand up of DIANA – our Center for Geospatial and Satellite Analysis (CENAGIS) created at the Faculty of Geodesy and Cartography was selected as a test center for innovators as early as April 2022 in the first stage of DIANA’s creation. Today’s announcement of the network’s expansion is an important next step in developing world-leading technologies across the Alliance.

The new accelerator sites and test centres will augment DIANA’s capacity to support innovators from across the Alliance as they develop their technologies. DIANA-affiliated accelerators deliver world-class programming to companies in the programme, while the network of test centres provides access to cutting-edge testing facilities. These are available to DIANA’s current cohort of companies, as well as those DIANA will support in future, giving them expert advice and access to test and try their technologies in specialised environments.

DIANA was created by NATO to help develop dual-use technologies that address challenges affecting security and defence. DIANA supports companies working on solutions in key sectors identified by the Alliance.

We at Warsaw University of Technology  welcome the accelerators and test centres joining the DIANA network. We are pleased to be part of a vibrant and mission-focused ecosystem supporting a peaceful future.
